EEE's Education and Outreach Program!

Eclectic Edge Ensemble

Hello! This is Stepheni, EEE's Education + Outreach Director.  I stepped into this role in September after closing the studio I'd owned and operated for the past couple of years and am excited to be focusing my love and energy for dance education to help EEE deliver awesome outreach and education opportunities to the community, schools, studios and other dancers!

What many people may not know about EEE, is that beyond being beautiful performers, our directors and company members are also practicing, experienced and gifted teachers.  Our outreach teaching roster is made up of past/present company members and affiliates who have OVER 100 YEARS of combined teaching experience providing quality instruction at studios, schools and colleges throughout the state!

We are looking to continuously expand the horizons of our Outreach + Education program, so we recently reorganized its structure to focus on providing movement-based education opportunities to the following audiences:

  • Schools
  • Studios
  • Community/Non-Profit Organizations
  • Dancers and Educators

Our goal for 2015-2016 is to increase the accessibility of dance through a robust program with a diverse roster of participants. One of the things that makes our outreach classes particularly unique is our ability to develop curriculum that ties in concepts, ideas, topics and techniques from current productions, so our classes are fresh, fun and rich with artistic value and meaning. All classes are carefully tailored to meet the needs of our students and our teachers are successful at encouraging and engaging with students of all ages and backgrounds, whether working with beginners to help create connections between movement and music or providing intensives that deepen technique and historical knowledge for trained dancers.

So far this year, we gave back through the power of performance as part of the Minneapolis Heart Institution's Heartbeat Gala and now are looking forward to holding a workshop for a large homeschool group called SciGirls in February! In order to meet our goals for this season, we're still on the lookout for dance studios, private or public schools, and community or non-profit organizations that would benefit from or are interested in providing movement-based opportunities to their students or patrons.

If you would like more information on our program and goals for this season, please visit http://www.eclecticedgeensemble.com/new-page/. If you have questions or would like to bring EEE in to conduct outreach at your organization, please e-mail me atstepheni.hubert@gmail.com.

Happy Dancing Everyone!
