The Man Who Turned Into a Fish

Eclectic Edge Ensemble

Mad Munchkin Productions, whose puppets you saw in EEE's Snow Bound! and who will collaborate with EEE again this summer in Grimm, has a show opening this Friday! We are so impressed with the work they do and cannot encourage you enough to go and see this show.

Special connection: EEE Artistic Director Karis Sloss's father, Richard, composed the music for the show!

About The Man Who Turned Into a Fish...

Floating on waves of whimsy and casting into the darkness of the deep, Mad Munchkin Productions brings you the tale of a boy turning man, a life teetering with obsession and an overflowing heart skating between land and water.

Conceived by Mad Munchkin co-founder Alan Pagel in a dream, this production was collaboratively written by the whole Mad Munchkin company. The story is brought to life with puppets of different sizes and varying forms and accompanied by a rich score and live music.

This exploration on the magical power of transformation and the desire to connect in our huge ocean of a world makes The Man Who Turned Into a Fish a journey not to be missed.

Directed by Laura Wilhelm. Original Music by Richard Sloss.

Featuring: Cameron Hager, Ted Hansen, Alan Pagel, Aaron Radatz, Jen Rand, Larissa Shea…with Rosalyn Claret on the saw!

Fridays, March 23 & 30, and April 6

Heaven at the Peacock

Eclectic Edge Ensemble

Eclectic Edge has a little tradition for Friday night shows; after the lobby has cleared and the excitement of successfully getting halfway through a great weekend of shows is dimming into exhaustion, we feed our fire with the Black Bean Cake Nachos at The Peacock Lounge!

The Peacock Lounge is a classy, cozy bar and lounge attached to Erté, right across the street from the Ritz Theatre.  We all drag our costume bags and makeup-strewn faces across the street and re-energize for the second half of the weekend.  Here, we can laugh about the flubs backstage, look back on the rehearsal process that got us here, and enjoy being with the good friends we also call co-workers.

EEE has shared many good times over Black Bean Cake Nachos at The Peacock Lounge.  We highly recommend that you also experience the pure joy that comes with sharing this delicious appetizer with a good friend.

Buon Appetit!

A tribute to Whitney

Eclectic Edge Ensemble

Whitney Houston has ruled the pop charts for over a decade with songs that many of us have cranked to the max on our car ride home. She became an icon and many of her songs, including "How Will I Know" coincide so well with the sometimes confusing feelings of love that EEE investigates in its upcoming show Reeling Over Love.  Whitney Houston's untimely death is a tragedy for many including her millions of adoring fans.  Here, we'd like to pay tribute to the brilliant pop star and thank her for years of musical inspiration.

Music exec: Whitney Houston looked 'healthy and beautiful' days earlier

Beverly Hills, California (CNN) -- Two loud booms jolted awake the music industry executive in her fifth-floor room of the Beverly Hilton hotel.

The time was 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The thuds seemed to be coming from the room below. The voice of a man, loud and urgent, followed.

It was only later that she learned the news: Whitney Houston, a guest in the room below hers, had died.

Cause of death: Unclear.

Time pronounced: 3:55 p.m., February 11, 2012.

Age: A mere 48.

The shock and grief from fans worldwide was immediate: Houston's pipes and presence, her grit and glamour had made her an icon.
